Joe grew up in Robinson, Texas where he went on to earn four letters for the Rocket baseball team. He played at NAIA school SAGU in Waxahachie, Texas after beginning his collegiate career at Mary-Hardin Baylor. After using up his eligibility Davila went on to serve as a Graduate Assistant working with hitters, catchers, and first basemen. Joe has been coaching and doing private instruction for 10 plus years now in the Central Texas area. He also spent 6 seasons with BLBA where he served as Head Coach and Roving Instructor. Joe has had players go onto play collegiate baseball including 11 NCAA D-1, 5 NCAA D-2, 15 NCAA D-3, 14 JUCO, and 11NAIA baseball. Joe also has 5 ladies playing softball at the college level as well as current softball ladies being recruited by the likes of Baylor, University of Texas, UMHB, Texas A&M, Tarleton State, Texas State, Louissiana -Lafayette, LSU, Oklahoma State, MCC, Temple, and UCLA.

Joe has been married to his wife Katrina since October of 2016 and they have a son Brooks Durham.
He also works for MHMR of Waco as the Family Youth engagement Coordinator.
